How the count works
Only the men’s FIFA World Cup is counted. Final scores were taken one by one from the RSSSF list of finals and the title years were cross-checked with Wikidata. The 1954, 1974 and 1990 titles were won as West Germany; FIFA and RSSSF count them under Germany, and East Germany never won the tournament. The semi-final count follows RSSSF; because of the tournament formats of 1930, 1950 and 1982 other sources may count differently.
